Customer goes to any Canada Post location
Clerk scans the customer's payment QR code
Clerk checks customer's ID (if ID check is enabled for your payments)
Customer pays with cash or debit
Clerk provides the customer with their receipt
There is a $3,000 transaction limit, however, customers can make multiple payments to the same payment QR code.
At $10,000 for one QR code during one day a Large Cash Transaction Report will be filed with FINTRAC.
The customer will receive a receipt regardless of the outcome of the transaction.
A successful transaction will generate a receipt for the customer that shows the time, location, reference number for support, amount, and fees.
A failed transaction will display the error code and an indication that the transaction was not complete. The procedure for the refund policy is that the clerk returns the funds to the consumer either by returning the cash or by refunding the debit cards.
